Alexander was born around 1805. His father's name was George Clark of Leagane according to his daughter Mary Anne's death notice. He had land in Ballinaclough and Kilkeary. He married Lucinda Ellen Marsh in 1827 and at some stage was a land steward for Rev. Dean Head. He was also a vestry man and church warden for Ballinaclough Church. Alex and Lucinda had the following children: Mary Anne b. 1832, Alexander 1833, Robert 1838, Joseph Alexander 1842, William 1843, Maria Jane 1844 and Phoebe 1850. William died in Ballinaclough in 1873, Mary Anne in Nenagh in 1916 and Joseph in Limerick in 1926. The rest of the children all emigrated to Australia. Alex, Lucinda and William are all buried in Ballinaclough Church yard.
