Bridget Joyce (alternate spelling: Joice - b. abt. 1822) was the daughter of Michael Joyce (b. 1788 possibly County/City Co. Cork; d. aft. 1861 Quebec, Canada) and Mary Moore (d. bef. 1851). She had at least two siblings - Ellen (Elinor) Joyce Coogan (b. abt. 1818 in Ireland, d. 31 July 1893 Farrellton, QC Canada) and John Joyce (b. abt. 1824 in Ireland and d.15 Sept 1869 in Farrellton QC, Canada). Bridget married Patrick Ryan on 20 Oct. 1840 in Muckalee, Kilkenny, Ireland. She had 12 children - the eldest (Elizabeth Mary Ryan born in Aghamucky, Kilkenny Ireland on 10 Aug 1841, about 6 weeks before the family emigrated to Wakefield, Ottawa/Quebec Canada. The other children were born between 1843-1863 all in the Gatineau/Ottawa area of Quebec, Canada. She died after 1861 (she was in the 1861 Canadian census, but not in the 1871 Canadian census, and her husband Patrick remarried in 1867.
