My 2 gr grandmother, Bridget Quirk, and lived in Sergeant's Lot, Golden, Tipperary. She was born around 1823. She was a godmother for Michael M. Quirk's & wife, Anne (Nancy) Lyon's son in Golden. I assume that Michael was Bridget's brother.
Bridget and Michael Quirk left Ireland around 1850 immigrating together with and their mother, Bridget Quirk (do not know her maiden surname), Anne's father, Timothy Lyons, and Michael's family to Albany, New York. The famine was not the reason, but they lost their land for another wealthy family (I think Scanlan) who took over.
John Quirk was already settled in Albany with his wife, Bridget Sullivan & they had several children. I believe that Michael & Bridget md. Patric Quin in Albany, and in 1855 Patric & Bridget had a daughter, Mary, in 1852, and Michael's family moved to Manlius, Onondaga, New York. They moved to Ohio, and later Champaign County, Illinois. Bridget Quirk Quinn died in 1813, and Patric Quin died in 1816 in Philo, Champaign, Illinois.
