Charles O'Donnell was my ggranfather. He was born on 19th April 1872 in Buncrana at a farm called The Holm or Holm house in Ballymacarry, Cockhill Rd.
His parents were Patrick O'Donnell from Buncrana, Inishowen West and Amelia McLoughlin.
Charles worked in Port Glasgow, Scotland as a fitters helper. He settled there and married on Juli 3, 1896 his Bella McConaghy from Ballintoy, Ballycastle or 89 Croagh, Co. Antrim.
Charles O'Donnell and Bella had 4 children. Mary, Charles, Patrick and Amelia O'Donnell. He lived with his family in Greenock in McKenzieStreet since 1911. Charles died young with 50 yrs of an appenditis. His wife Bella followed him a year later of a valv. heart disease.
