Cornelius was born in 1828 in Ballyvourney Parish, County Cork, in the townland of Slievereagh. He was the son of John Lynch of Ballyvourney and Catherine Brown of Kilnamartyra Parish. Cornelius married Julia Herlihy and they had 6 children: John, Mary, Ellen, Johanna, Katie, and Cornelius. They came to the United States around 1876 to Wilmington, Delaware. Cornelius' son John is my great-grandfather. He married Hannah Hyde in 1877 and they had 13 children total, some of whom died in childhood. One of his sons, John Aloysius Lynch, was my grandfather; he had 9 children, including my mother Catherine Lynch Hazlett. There are 3 of us children in the family. Would love to hear from anyone who may be related, or know something about the Lynch family of Ballyvourney Parish (Slievereagh or surrounding townlands of Coolea, etc.)
