Migrated to/Born in USA
Curtis Conn is alleged to have been born in the USA in 1774, according to a document he completed in 1809, asking to become a naturalized Swedish citizen. However, no records have been discovered pertaining to him prior to 1795.
From 1795-1817, he was a sea captain and merchant, residing in St Barthelemy and sailing between Savannah, Georgia, Philadelphia and various Caribbean Islands. He had 6 children in the islands with Eliza Seixas, who he married in 1817. At that time, they left the islands, married in Baltimore and proceeded to Kaskaskia Illinois where he settled, took up farming, became a Probate Judge. He and Eliza had 3 more children in Illinois. He served in that position until his untimely death in 1827.
