yes. I am aware. All I can think is perhaps it was a clerical error. Screen shot of the baptism record included. Also, his mothers maiden name was “Slevin”. Some of the hand writing has been difficult to decipher.
I am also having a hard time making out the location of the birth or even baptism. Denis’ father, John Phelan was from Drangan Co. Tipp, but I cannot make out the location of Denis from the Baptism record. I found a “Shanakill” in Templemore. Looks to be an area in the town of Templemore. Does that sound right?
