Father also named Denis. Denis Jr Convicted of assault in Tipperary 1833. Family has Court transcript. Transported to Tasmania, Australia, arrived 1833. Received ticket of leave 1837. Settled in Murrurundi, NSW, as a farner. Joined by other Irtish Shanahans - Murrurundi is full of them. Denis married Mary Newman (photograph available; but not of Denis, unfortunately), from Maitland NSW. Eight children (all names known). Denis died circa 1810. Buried in Murrurundi Catholic cemetery; headstone still standing in 2015. Extensive line of descendants.
