I know that Elizabeth (or Elisabeth) and Thomas McDonald are the parents of Anne McDonald because I have a copy of the baptismal certificate. I cannot. however, trace them back any further with any certainty.
I have found a Thomas Mcdonel born in Upper Knockanpower, Ring parish, Waterford. Baptized 14 November 1824. Father Thomas Mcdonel and Alicia Henissey. Sponsors were Patrick Tobin and Julianna Roach (sponsor surname when Brigid was born 1857).
Brigid McDonnel (from previous paragraph), born baptized 30 August 1857 in Trinity Without, Waterford. Father Thomas Mcdonnel and Mother Elisabeth Prendergast. They lived at May Lane. Sponsors were Martin and Anastasia Roache.
I have also found an Elisabeth Prendergast that was baptized 1 June 1829 in St Marys Clonmel parish, Waterford. Father was William Prendergast and Brigid Geary. Sponsors were Cornelius Brannigin and Mary Sheely.
