Felix Mortin (Morton) and Mary Morton previously from Boyle, County Roscommon both died in County Monaghan; They are the parents of my great-grandfather Edward Morton born in Boyle, County Roscommon in 1833.

My grandfather Edward Morton joined the Irish Revenue Police in 1852 Boyle before resigning in 1855 and emigrating to Victoria, Australia as a policeman before then emigrating to the Southland in NZ where he also served with distinction as a policeman. He married in Lawrence, NZ to Tulla, County Clare born Bridget Roughan. Their son James Michael Morton emigrated to Australia working as an engineer on gold dredges in Victoria and NSW. My father Lawrence James Morton was born in 1917 to James and his wife Harriet (nee George and whose father emigrated from Mullion, Cornwall and whose mother Rebecca Kennedy emigrated to NZ from Glenlee in County Donegal).
