George and his wife Margaret ne Rae with children Samuel and Mary Ann , left Londonderry on 19 October 1838 for Sydney Australia. He Emigrated "on his own account" as a Cabinet Turner - meaning he did not have employer waiting for his arival. Mary Ann died as only 14 months old shortly before arival in Sydney.
