The photo is from an electronic file my step-father had of George Nagle and indicates the original photo is on a rusting steel plate. George was born in Ardcanaught and was Postmaster of the Castlemaine postoffice. His wife, Mary Knightly, was Postmistress of that postoffice. They lived at the postoffice and ran a general store out of it as well. After his death in 1921, she was not allowed to run the postoffice by herself, so she emigrated to America with all of her children but one.
