Honora Patrica "Annie" Burke was born in Ballyoughtra (Loughine), Skibbereen, County Cork Ireland, the daughter of Randal Burke of Loughine and his wife Mary Driscoll Burke of Lisheen, Aughadown.

Honora is the granddaughter of Timothy Randal Burke and his wife Honora O'Donoghue, and also the granddaughter of John Driscoll and his wife Julia Harrington Driscoll.

Honora was one of six siblings, five whom permanently immigrated to Buffalo, New York, and one brother who returned to Ireland to inherit the farm.

Honora married John "Jack" Troy from Monananig (Gortroe), Bartlemy, County Cork Ireland in Buffalo New York and they had five children, two who

currently survive.
