James Bourke was born in Borrisoleigh, Tipperary in 1836. Married Johanna Bourke (née Bourke) in 1857. Children Thomas, Richard, William, Michael, Patrick, Mary, John, Honora, Roady (Roger), Catherine, Hannah. The family migrated to Australia in 1876 leaving from Glasgow on the ship Roxburghshire The youngest children Catherine & Hannah were born in Australia. James was a Lengthsman with the Queensland Railways & the family lived near Warwick, Queensland James died on 22 September 1889 & was buried at the Warwick Cemetery.

Hi there

Just wondering if you know the parents names of your James Bourke. My 2 x great grandfather was Richard Bourke who came to Australia in 1863, he also had a brother Thomas and sister Margaret who immigrated heren as well. On his immigration papers he comes from Castleconnell Limerick but if you look at Castleconnell its on a narrow part of Limerick between Tipperary and Clare. His parents names were Richard Bourke and Fanny Wilkison according to his shipping paperwork

Would like to know if they are related as the childrens names are all similar to my families.
