He was born in the county of Antrim, district of Ballymena on 18th January 1896. He left his home and came to Argentina when he was 15 but later he went back and fought in the First World War. Then, he came back to Argentiona, got married and never returned.His father William Hardie was merchant sailor, his mother´s name was Annie jennie Esler. His brothers William and Arthur as well as his sisters Maria and Martha stayed there.
