James Kelly was found in the Griffith Valuation in1856 in Corskeagh Trench in the village of Carhoon, the Parish of Ballymacward.
James was a Cooper and known in the area as "Cooper" Kelly. James married Anne Cahill the daughter of Thomas Cahill and Elizabeth Blaney.
James and Anne had 12 children, two died in infancy. the names of their children were Bridget, Maria,
Elizabeth, Owen, Jane, John, Anne, James, Michael and Joseph. eight of the children emigrated to the States. Only Anne and Jon remained inIreland.
