My grandfather, James McKeon, was the son of John McKeon (alternate spelling - McKeown, McKone, McKeone) and Bridget Smith (born around 1852). My grandfather's siblings were Patrick, Mary Ann, John, Ellen, Frank and Delia. James McKeon emigrated in 1905 to New York City. Mary, John, Frank and one of his sisters also emigrated to the US. Patrick stayed in Ireland
I believe John and Bridget were married in Bailieborough in 1879. John's father was Patrick.
James had two sons, John and James (my father), and 1 daughter Anna.
My father James married Mary Carroll of New York. I have 1 brother James
I, Clare Thomenius, have 2 children, Erika and Michael Thomenius and 4 grandchildren, Roland and Oliver Thomenius-Stearns, and Anwyn and William Thomenius.
I met my father's first cousin, John McKeown, who I believe is the son of Patrick, when he came to the US in the late 1950s but our families lost contact.
I would like to visit Ireland again and perhaps meet second cousins.
