Hi, Just read your post and could be the wrong Mary. My ancestor Mary Meehan born C1829. She arrived in Tasmania under the British Orphan Scheme in 1851. The records I have read and I guess she may have come from Ennis Clare but this could be the workhouse? I really dont have anymore to add but she married and had children in Tasmania. Cindy
It is beleived that James Meehan married Nelly Kelly in the 1830's in the area of Tulla, Clare. A daughter, Mary, was christened 15 May 1832. Parents' resdience at that time given as Moymore.

Hi Cinders, do you know any more of James Meehan and/or Nelly Kelly? My 2nd g-grandmother is Margaret Meehan b1825. She married Patrick Melican b1819.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Patrick Milligan b1953

Hi Melican
James Meehan and Nelly Kelly are my 3rd gt gp. Their daughter Mary, baptised 1836, later married Patrick/Patt McMahon at Tulla in July 1860. In the 1880's Mary emigrated to New Zealand to be with family there and she died in N.Z. about 1903. James and Nelly are one of my brick wall lines. I have wondered whether this couple are related to Nelly and James. On 2 Sept. 1838 John Kelly and Mary Rocheford have a daughter named Nelly baptised with sponsors Pet/Pat Kelly and Kitty Rocheford of Coolrea as sponsors. This was in the parish of Kilnoe, Killaloe Diocese.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
