Jeremiah was married to Johanna Riordan. he ran the pub across the road from the post office in Caherdahy, Kilnamartyra from 1896 until he died in 1949. Jeremiah was given the pub by his aunt Margaret (Magh) O'Connell. She gave it to him after her husband, Maurice O'Connell (no relation), died.
