John J. Collins : Short Biography

My dad's grandfather, John J. Collins, was born about 1873 in Ireland. His father was John Collins and his mother Mary Byrne/Byren/Bryen. He had a brother Michael and sister Mary, both born in Ireland and died in Michigan. John J. Collins emmigrated in 1897 to Detroit, Michigan, USA. He married Anna May Hayden on November 3, 1903, in Lapeer, Michigan. They had two children during their marriage. John and his brother Michael ran a saloon in Detroit called Collins Bros Saloon. He died on March 19, 1916, at the age of 42, and was buried in Detroit, Michigan. Family rumor is that the Collins family was from Cork, near Blarney Castle but this is as yet unproven. We are trying to find anyone who may be related so that we can connect.
