I don't have much history on my great grandfather but know that there was a McDonnell family store (hardware or pharmacy - not sure). The story that was passed down to me was that my great grandfather used money that was supposed to be used to buy supplies and instead bought a ticket to America. He never told his family and just left. He married Mary Whitney (1876-1968) in 1909 and they eventually settled in Portland, OR.
