My brothers and I believe that we likely are descendants of this John O'Brien and his wife, Anne Archer, and would welcome help in proving that to be true. Our great-great-grandfather was a John (James) O'Brien married to an Anne Archer. Our earliest confirmed record of them is in Albany, NY, USA in 1844, when our great-grandfather's older brother was born in Albany. There is an older daughter, Mary, that correlates to both this John and Anne and our ancestor in Albany. We would like to find descendants of this pair in Ireland to see if we can make a connection. Our speculation is that our ancestors came over to Canada and then down to Albany, but that is just speculation. Are there any resources about emigration in the 1830 - 1844 timeframe?
