Looking for information regarding Laurence James Nowlan. He was born around 1805 and was from Edenderry, Co. Offaly. He emigrated to Louisiana and became a grocer in New Orleans. He died 27 March 1878. His wife was Jane Sullivan from Cork. To my knowledge, they had no children. Laurence's mother was probably an O'Toole as he was a cousin of the O'Tooles. He visited Ireland in the 1847 and spent time with Patrick O'Toole of Wicklow. Patrick was probably his uncle. He was also related to the Patterson family of Edenderry.
My wife descends from Patrick O'Toole of Wicklow and would like to learn more about her Nowlan and Patterson relatives and any O'Tooles living in Edenderry that might be related to her.
