Margarete was the daughter of William Quinn (b abt 1859 d 1899) and Margaret Hickey (b 1864 d 1929). It was a second marriage for both of the parents. Margarete also had a twin sister named Winifred. Their father died when they were very young and their mother Margaret decided to move to the United States with children from both her marriages. They ended up in Buffalo, NY. Margarete married and had 2 children and died in Buffalo.
According to the 1901 Census mother Margaret lived with daughters Margarete, Winifred and son James Morrissey from her first marriage.

Margarete's father, William Quin/n, died in the Fever Hospital in Thurles from typhoid. His marriage record to Margarete in 1894 states that he is a widower but I do not know anything about his first wife or the names of his parents or other children.
Margarete's mother, Margaret Hickey, was the daughter of John Hickey and Ellen Dwyer. When she left for the US she planned on going to her uncle, Robert, in Pennsylvania but ended up for an unknown reason in Buffalo.
