Martha Livingston [married Watson] : Short Biography

Martha LIVINGSTON was born on July 1, 1837, in Carnew, County Wicklow, Ireland. "In this beautiful homeland, she spent the days of her childhood. As a little girl she loved to hear her people read the letters that came from her older sisters in America." . . "Each year a desire to visit Wisconsin grew until she concluded to come and spend a year with her relatives."  After a short time, she decided to remain in Wisconsin.

By 1873 she married Mr. Thomas WATSON, a widower. They lived at Livingston, Grant County, Wisconsin. Her brother, George Livingston, and sister-in-law, Mrs. Jane Livingston lived nearby. Two other siblings, Mrs. John Livingston and Mrs. Bessie Dowser resided in Brisbane, Australia. 

Mr. Watson and his first wife, Margaret (Nelson) Watson, had had eight children.

Martha and Thomas Watson had two children born to them: Martha  "Mattie" Alice WATSON and John Charles WATSON.

Martha (Livingstone) WATSON was "a woman of even temper and cheerful disposition." She had been "a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church" during her lifetime.

In 1895 Martha's husband, Thomas passed away.  

On May 3, 1905, Mrs. Martha Watson passed away from paralysis. She was buried at the Old Rock Church Cemetery in Grant County, Wisconsin.
