Son of Martin Maloney and Catherine Bannon. He was scheduled to leave from Queenstown, Ire. 30 Aug. 1900 but he did not make that voyage. He did leave on 13 Sep. 1900 aboard "The Majestic". His father, Martin John Maloney from parish Bournea, married Cath. Bannan 30 Jun. 1863 in Borris in Ossory, Laois. Martin Joseph Maloney was named after an infant/brother who was born Feb. 1870 but died as an infant. Variants of the name include Mulldowney, and Malone.
