If anyone has a baptism record for Maria Jourdan, please post it or post a link to where it might be found. Her marriage to James Canty can be found on the Catholic register for Broadford and Dromcolliher in 1834. I believe the year of her baptism posted here is more likely based on her age at death as stated on her official death record in Victoria, Australia. Information on death records is only as reliable as the knowledge of the person reporting the death. In this case, the VIC BDM Index is showing Mary died in the Geelong area (of Victoria) in 1884 aged 75 which approximates a birth year of 1809. He father is named as Joseph Jordon but her mother's name is unknown to the death informant indicating that they don't know Maria/Mary that well. Her husband had died some years earlier so it may have been one of her children reporting her death and they were not aware of their grandmother's name - not that uncommon. Again, if anyone has any clues about Maria/Mary's origins or her siblings in Limerick, all info welcome.
