My great grandmother, Mary Sheridan, was born in Kells County Meath to Thomas Sheridan and Catherine Carolan. She had 3 siblings, Matthew, Elizabeth and Annie. All were born in Kells.

Mary and her sisters left Kells for work (Mary to Bailieborough as a shop assistant, Elizabeth and Annie to Tullamore Offaly as dressmakers) while brother Matthew remained in Kells.
Mary married Owen Lynch in Bailieborough, Cavan on 01 Sep 1886. The couple left Ireland a few days later and arrived in New York on 16 Sep 1886. They settled in Newark, NJ and had three sons between 1887 – 1893. Sadly, Mary died on 18 Oct 1895 and Owen died 11 weeks later on 06 Jan 1896.
