My GGGgrandmother, Margaret Jane Knox Carson's brother Matthew Knox was born circa 1817. I assume he was from Convoy because his three sisters stated this on the ship's manifest as being their residence. The sisters emigrated on the Ship Carouge arriving at Philadelphia on June 23, 1838. I am not sure when Matthew came. In the 1840 Census he was listed as residing in Brown Township, Carroll County, Ohio. He enlisted in the Mexican-American war in 1847 and was mustered out in 1848. In 1852 he was listed as being deceased on the military land warrant that his two sisters, Margaret Jane Knox Carson and Mary Knox McFarland, received for his military service. I can't find any death records. I would really like to find his ancestor's records in Ireland.
