Hi my Great Grandfather was Michael Coggins, born March 16, 1862 in Ireland and according to his death certificate he was the son of Patrick Coggins and Mary Malia. Michael died Aug 29, 1909 in Scranton PA, USA.. HIs death certificate was completed by his oldest son James Francis, James died in 1911, and Michael's wife Mary Anne Jordan died in 1912 leaving my Grandfather John Joseph alone at the age of 20. According to Grandpa he never actually met his fathers family and did not know if they were in the US or Ireland. I have not found any information about Michael any where. In Scranton there were many Coggins families including many Michael's who were alive contemporaneous with my Grandfather but no evidence of any kinship between he and them. I have found no DNA matches through Ancestry for either myself or my brother on the Coggins side and wondered if it is possible my Michael could be the child of your Patrick b 1830, or Michael Patrick b 1826?
