Wondering if you have a Gedmatch number? I believe my 2nd great grandfather Edward/Edmund/Ned Kennedy b.abt.1800 had some interaction with a Denis Crowe in Gurthumma/Gortahumma, Tipperary, Ireland. All the same names in my family but at an earlier time. But could be a connection as we know that several of my Edward Kennedy's children married people from Templederry.
Michael Kennedy was my great grandfather. He was born to Edmund/Edmond/Edward Kennedy and Bridget Crowe in Sept of 1867 (according to the 1900 Fed. Census in Chicago Illinois) in Co. Tipperary. However the actual records from the period of his birth are missing. Here is the information for some of his siblings. His sister Nora is missing from the list. I assume it is because her birthdate is in one of the missing pieces of information.
Templederry Baptism Records show the following with the residence listed as Gurthahumma.
Child. Parents
Mary Kennedy 1855/02/07 Edward Kennedy/Bridget Crowe,
Johannah Kennedy 1859/11/10, Edward Kennedy/Bridget Crowe
Denis Kennedy 1860/07/09, Edmund/Bridget Kennedy
Bridget Kennedy 1862/09/06, Edw. Bgt. Crowe.
Edward Kennedy 1869/08/07 , Edward/Bridget
Sarah Kennedy 1871/10/04, Edmond/Bridget
Couldn't find any record of baptism of Michael Joseph Kennedy.(there seems to be a big gap from 1862 to 1869.
Mary Kennedy married James Spillane and stayed at Gortahumma. They had 13 children. Mary and James are buried in Kilnaneave Cemetery
Dennis immigrated and settled in Clinton Iowa and married Ellen Hayes in 1885. They had 5 children, Thomas, John, Edward, William and Margaret. Eventually the family moved to Chicago. Dennis was murdered in 1908.
Johannah immigrated to Clinton Iowa and married William Dinan. They eventually moved to Chicago as well. However, Johannah returned to Clinton and died in 1895.
Nora immigrated to Clinton Iowa and married John Delaney. They had 8 children. Nora died in Clinton in 1928.
Michael immigrated in approximately 1886 according to his naturalization papers. He lived in Chicago and married Bridget Ryan (nee: Fitzgerald) They had one daughter, Ellen born in Dec 1901. Michael died from a fall out of a 4th story window on October 8, 1902.
I an looking for more information on both Edmund(etc) Kennedy and Bridget Crowe. Bridget lived at Gortahumma as late as in the 1911 census and was listed as 80 years of age. There was also a Martin Crowe there. In 1901 census Bridget Kennedy (nee:Crowe) was listed as a widow.

I am on GED match. However, I have not used it much nor do I understand it. I think my GED match number might be FE1324445. The Edmund/Edward/Edmond Kennedy (my 2 great Grandfather) spent a lot of time in petty sessions court with a Denis Crowe. So much so that the newspaper named them "the happy neighbours". This Denis Crowe was likely married to a Bridget Benson. I think my 2 great Grandfather was the daughter of a Martin Crowe, but I don't have a lot of proof yet. I would love to know what you find out.

Carole we do not have a match on Gedmatch but thanks for your comments about your ancestor and the Petty Sessions Court - can you verify/confirm that this is your Edward Kennedy? If so I can rule out that as any kind of connection to mine. Thank you!

Good Morning,
Here is what I know and how I know it. My great-grandfather, Michael's death announcement in the Chicago Tribune listed his siblings as Dennis and Nora Delaney of Clinton Iowa. As I researched newspaper articles in Clinton, I discovered another sister, Johanna Dinan. The articles also listed events in Clinton where the siblings were in attendance together. The 1925 Iowa state census included the names of parents. Nora listed her parents as Edward Kennedy and Bridget Crowe. As I researched this couple, I found this couple with these children in Gortahumma, Tipperary. I also have a significant DNA match to one of Dennis's grandchildren. He had shared some information that his mother told him about her father. It made sense with the information about the family, in particular information about an older sister Mary. One of the newspaper articles from the Tipperary Vindicator describes one of the incidents where Johanna and Nora were involved. With all of this, I am feeling confident that this is my Edward Kennedy. What I don't know with any certainty is his parents, date of birth and date of death. I hope this is helpful to you.
Regards,
Carole

I found your last message here. Interesting because my Kennedy family of Tipperary had several connections to the Delaney's as well! Hope we find something!
