As far as I can tell Michael Morrissey came to the United States by way of Castle Garden New York, USA , without any family. He ended up settling in Indiana. Here is a brief summary about him from my familysearch account:
"Michael Morrissey was born in 1812, in Muckalee, Fassadinin, County Kilkenny, Ireland. He married Jane Mendenhall on 23 April 1843, in Rochester, Rochester Township, Fulton, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He immigrated to Castle Garden, Manhattan, New York County, New York, United States in 1836 and lived in Union Township, Fulton, Indiana, United States in 1850. He died on 20 June 1861, in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana, United States, at the age of 49, and was buried in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana, United States." This is based on the research done. His children were Edward N. Morrissey 1845 - 1905, Mary Morrissey 1846 - death unknown (may be living), Nancy Ellen Morrissey 1854 - 1932. Jane Mendenhall his spouse was born in 1805 and died in 1854, most likely from childbirth. The family moved to Ohio for a time and then I found all the children in censuses, each with other families in Indiana. Michael is my 2nd great grandfather with my line going through Edward N. Morrissey his son.
