Tooher of Curraghmore, Kilcormac, Co. Offaly.  Looking for information.  

Michael Tooher's daughter Catherine Tooher (born 1860) in Curraghmore, Kilcormac, Co. Offaly married Kieran Egan, (born 1848) in Lisclooney on October 2, 1886. They were married in Birr, Co. Offaly.  Catherine Tooher was one of 21 children, I was told.  I was told the Toohers were originally from Tipperary,  

In 1844 a Land Assessment was done on the property of a Michael Tooher in Curraghmore.  More research needs to be done if this Michael is her father.  

I do know that the family of Michael Tooher, and his daughter Catherine were a wealthier family and owned a brick house (not common in the countryside) in Curraghmore, Co. Offaly. Today all that is left of the house is the foundation and scattered bricks about. I was told that in the house was a room that had poltergeist. 

Kieran and Catherine Tooher Egan lived on the Egan farm in Lisclooney, (Huntston), which is located in the Constabulary District of Banagher, and in the Sub-division of Shannon Bridge. Their first son was my grandfather, James Egan, who was born  July 28, 1887. 

I was told that Catherine Tooher-Egan is buried in Kilcormac (and Burns?).  Perhaps in the Toohers had a family grave.  Anyone connected to that family can contact me.  Thank you,
