My g-grandfather was Michael Walsh m to Catherine Nugent in 1859, residing at the time in Tooradoo, Ballyduff, Co.Waterford. My grandmother and all siblings were born there as well. The children were Mary, Brigid Theresa,Thomas, Alice, Nelly, Kate (Katherine Frances. All 6 moved to Boston MA in US after both parents passed away. Michael's death was registered in 1878 by William Walsh.(a brother?) The only other clues I have to the family of Michael and Catherine are the witnesses to their marriage-Michael Nugent and Thomas Walsh, who were related but fathers/brothers? or? Michael's death was witnessed and reported by William Walsh. Baptismal sponsors to children include William Walsh and Alice Nugent. A young William (Willie) son of William Walsh, wrote a school essay in later years describing the decline of his village saying there were only a few home still inhabited.(this is on file as part of naitonal educational project)
