Patrick Lyons immigrated to America and lived in Port Sulphur in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. It is a town located south of New Orleans. He had a large family and many of the Lyons cousins (who now have a variety of surnames) remain very close, reuniting annually at Mardi Gras in New Orleans. He died on July 16, 1891 and is buried in the Lyons Family crypt at St. Patrick's Church in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, as are a number of his descendants. St. Patrick's Church was named in honor of his patron saint.
