There is no wedding listed for them on Roots Ireland I'm afraid
References
Peter William Costello was married to Ellen Kennedy we believe in 1820. at the ossary in Killkenny. They had three kids (William, Martin and Thomas)before leaving to PEI. Any help appreciated. Roots Ireland has the marriage but THE PERSON could not read it. No other proof they were from Killkenny.
If someone could do a fresh look-up it wouldbe appreciated greatly.
FIRST LOOKUP CAME BACK 1820 BUT THE PERSON COULD NOT READ THE INFO OR COULD COPIED IT.
aPPRECIATE IT SOMEONE ELSE COULD CHECK THE MARRIAGE IN ROOTS IRELAND. nEED DATE, PARISH, PARENTS IF LISTED.

before my computer died i saw it. I just wanted a copy or proof before i died. to give to my family my legacy.
It was the only proof found to the story of kilkenny in the family.
no other documents in Prince Edward Island or Canada.
it was under a variation of the names.
the original was in poor condition.

I've tried all those options together and on their own and unfortunately it doesn't show up in any of the records on RootsIreland. Do you know which parish they were from?
I checked the birth records for a Costello Baptism with the parents first names only in the search. it returned two sons
Michael baptised 1-12-1828 to Peter Costello and Ellen Conway from Ballyhale sponsors Michael Costello, Catherine Conway
Thomas baptised 9-6-1834 to the same couple from Ballyhale sponsors John Holding, Margaret Costello
Could these be your family? There is no marriage record for them though

Murt,
thank-you for checking. i really appreciate it. I do not think the people you found are mine directly.
What i saw and was told it was from the ossary in Kilkenny using roots ireland. It looked like it was from the original book as a cut and paste.
thought it said 1820 but could have been 1821. Peter william Costello or costelloe and Ellen Kennedy had three kids in Kilkenny. Starting in 1820 to 1825: William(b. 1820), Martin (b. 1822and thomas (b. 1825) were the names of the kids born in kilkenny IRE.
I remember that the marriage script was a variation of the name but due to the quality of the manuscript i could not read it well.
The person who found it died so I can no longer contact them to resend. What i received i could not print at the time as my computer died.
We have no other proof from Kilkenny in PEI canada just family story. three brothers came from kilkenny to PEI. No records exists in canada as proof.
This is the last thing for the tree before i die, my legacy for my son.

Hi Reddam,
Unfortuantely theres no listing under all those names on Roots Ireland. I've tried all those options between 1800 to 1840.
I think the reason the record is no longer showing up because it may have been reported for being an incorrect entry, especially if it was difficult to read. The only solution I can think for you is to check the actual parish registers which are availble free online from NLI.ie (national library of Ireland)
Ossary is the name of the diocese (church district which is made up of parishes) which takes in almost all of Co Kilkenny and some of west Co Laois and a small area of Co Offaly.
The Costellos were mainly from south west Co Kilkenny which would include the parishes of Windgap mainly with other in the surrounding parishes of Dunnamaggan, Aghaviller, Owning & Templeorum.
This is the link for the Windgap parish this is the most likely parish they were from http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1034
Sorry it didn't show up for you but hopefully you'll find them the old fashioned way.
My most distant ancestor was from Kilkeasy which is in Aghaviller parish he was born 1713, died 1798
Kindest regards

My most distant known ancestor was Pierce Costello dates above. He moved to Dunnamaggan parish to a townland called Goodwinsgarden and his family are still there on the same farm. You or your son should consider doing a YDNA test with FamilytreeDNA and join the Costello surname project and we maybe able to provide you with a DNA connection to the Kilkenny Costellos. I'm currently waiting for my YDNA37 test results so the more Costellos who do it the clearer the connection can be figured out.
Kindest regards
