The Very Rev. Fr Terence Sweeny P.P. was a Catholic parish priest in Croghan (Killucan & Killummod) in 1845, throughout the Great Famine, and beyond.
By 1856, he was a respected Canon in the Diocese and Croghan remained in his pastoral care until at least 1869.
His curates were Rev. Fr. Matthew Barrett of Finnor, and Rev. Fr. P Gormerly. By 1850 Rev. Fr. Timothy O'Beirne was also a curate in Croghan, residing at The Hermitage.
