Sarah's father was William Brown, a sailor, from Sailortown, Belfast. Her mother was Sarah Kennedy, whose family were from Fermanagh.
The Brown family were publicans in the Sailortown area of Belfast, see details of Marianne Brown. Sarah had eight children, seven of them boys. John, Samuel, George, Tommy , James and Sarah. Two children died in infancy William Stewart and Joseph Wilson Stewart.
Her descendants are widespread; some remaining in Belfast, many others in the USA and Australia. She is buried in Comber.
