According to her obit, my 2nd great grandmother on my paternal side, Sarah Maher, was from Cappaghwhite. She died at age 70 on 27 Dec 1898 (born 1828?) in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Her two children, Sarah Moran & James Jerimiah Moran were both born in Albany, New York, USA between 1865 & 1870. She is listed as a widow, age 50, living in Chicago, Illinois, USA on the 1880 US Federal Census. I am no certain when she emigrated from Ireland. The obit, found in the book, "Chicago Irish Families 1875-1925" first printed by the Chicago Daily News goes on to ask the Albany, New York papers to please copy the obituary.
