He was born about 1830. He married Susan Beatty (or Beattie) on October 7th 1859 in Aghalurcher, Ferm, Ireland. They had a daughter Anne Jane Johnston on March 12, 1868 in Fivemiletown, Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
That is about all that I have been able to find. Their surnames indicate that they were Ulster Scots and possibly descendants of the Border Rievers in Scotland.
