My brickwall concerns my relatives: Rober Bell (01 May 1820 - 18 March 1889) and Eleanor Jane Cook (15 November 1830 - 1885) in Ballymena, Ireland. If anyone has any information on these individuals, I would appreciate hearing from you at gerbell41@yahoo.ca. Thanks

Can I add that Robert Bell has nothing to do with Thomas Kenny and I am not sure why it has been added on here!!

If Thomas is the son of Robert Douglas Kenny and Martha Dale, he immigrated to New Zealand in 1874 with his wife Ellen Montgomery (married 1869) and two sons Robert and James (born 1871 and 1873). Thomas Kenny died in Dunedin, New Zealand, in 1889 and his wife Ellen died in 1917. Thomas and Ellen had a further 3 children after they arrived (Martha, Mary and John).

Hi Shirlee, I believe my Thomas (3xGGF is actually the younger brother of Robert Douglas Kenny. Married to Jane Barr.
Thanks

Hi Ed
I have only just spotted your response above. Have you read the publication by James Gault Kenny "As the Crow Flies Over Rough Terrain". It documents most of the families in the Ballymena region incl. the Kenny's.
Although not directly related to the Kenny family, my DALE family are connected to the KENNY's through the marriage of Martha DALE to Robert Douglas KENNY. Martha was a sister of my 2nd Great Grandfather Samuel DALE of Ballycloughan, Broughshane.
My Great Grandfather, Ferguson DALE, immigrated to Victoria, Australia, in 1857. Although born in Melbourne, I married a NZer and have lived in Wellington, NZ, for 50 yrs.
regards
Shirlee

Hi Shirlee, I am aware of the book but could never find a copy even an online copy to read. Do you know if there is an online link I could view?
thanks Ed

Hi
There were considerable copies of the book sent to Libraries around the world. There are 2 copies here in Wellington at the National Library. You could go to your local library and ask the librarian to help you find where the nearest copy of the book is. I was told recently that there are still copies available at a bookshop in Belfast.
