William McWilliams
Father of James McWilliams b.1819 d.1894 (death in USA) and Thomas b.1822 d. 1891 (death in USA) whom I have also added.
I am not certain that he is the father of James & Thomas, it is a good guess based on information and family folklore. The attached profile picture was found on PRONI records. These are the reasons I believe William is James and Thomas's father:
1. Repition of names William, James, Thomas, Walter in our lineage
2. Trade is a match (copper & tinsmith). My father who is a sheet metal worker (tinner, tinsmith, coppersmith-all variations of the trade) has told me the trade goes back 7 generations. (William would be generation 6).
3. 1837-Belast-see profile photo. In 1834 Thomas came to America (NY) with his father (assuming it's William) They stayed in the US for a year and then returned to Belfast. Thomas lived in Belfast for another 10 years before returning to the US. I do not know what happened to William (maybe he passed away and that is why Thomas came back to America?) I do not know if there were any other siblings in this family. There is a Charles who is related however he wasn't born until 1839 in Belfast, an obituary read that he may be a nephew.
4. I can find this William (tinsmith) in Belfast on Mary St. from 1836-1339 from records on PRONI
