William Morgan Kennedy was a descendant of Morgan Kennedy of Rathmaiden and Whitestown House. He was born around 1822 in or near Mothel, marrided Brigid Mountin (a/k/a Monutain or Manton) Kennedy at St. Molleran's Church in Carrick-beg. According to family records he worked as a Gardener at Curraghmore House (Lord Waterford's estate) for 37 years, and in 1880 Lord Waterford paid for the passage of William and his family to New York City. They arrived on the SS Germanic on 30 Sep 1880, and ultimately settled in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. William's son John Joseph Kennedy was my great grandfather, followed by Maurice J Kennedy Sr, who lived in Hartford had 11 children and 45 grandchildren of which I am one.
