Parents of William are William Nolan and Mary Walsh. As a young man William went to Australia where his older brother Maurice had settled. In 1890 William married Briget Kelly (from Co.Tipperay) in Melbourne, Australia. They sailed to NZ with young children in 1893 and settled there.
