I have a relative John Toohey (GG Grandfather) born about 1810 from Toomevara. Could they be related? I dont know his parents. His wife is Ann Minogue and they married in Jan 1835 and had 8 children. One of their sons (Thomas Toohey) born 1848 immigrated to Australia - he is my GGrandfather. The spelling of Toohey changes depending on the records from Toohey, Touhy and Touhey.

My father-in-law was John Toohey who was named after his father who migrated from Canada to the USA in the early 20th century. There may be a connection?
