An Bothán Scoir aka Hanley's Cottage is a recently-restored former labourer's house, built c.1750 on Lawler's Estate (the local landlord of the time). It is the last of ten small dwellings that once stood along the road, most of which were mud and wattle cottages.
The half-door and timber sliding sash window are notable features. The interior retains the hearth and other features. The floor was compressed by sheep which were allowed into the cottage. This building is now in use as museum.
