The Treaty Stone is a large block of limestone, once used to tie horses, upon which the Treaty of Limerick was signed on October 3rd 1691. The treaty signalled the end of the Williamite War in Ireland and was signed after the second Siege of Limerick between the Jacobite Patrick Sarsfield (1630-1693) and the WIlliamite leader Godert de Ginkel. The stone is located on the Clare side of Tomond Bridge in the city of Limerick.
