The Ould Lammas Fair at Ballycastle County Antrim dates back to the 17th century. The festival is held every year on the last Monday and Tuesday of August. The festival marks the end of the harvest and consists of two days of food, trade, and entertainment. Traditional foods to consume at the Ould Lammas Fair are Yellowman, which is a locally made honeycomb, and Dulse, a dried seaweed. Livestock are bought and sold, as well as clothes and jewellery. Entertainment is provided in the form of face painting, fortune telling, and music. The Ould Lammas Fair is a strong tradition in County Antrim and has been immortalised in song by local shopkeeper, John Henry MacAuley.
