I am researching the Bradburn family in Ireland, with branches in County Cavan (starting with George Bradburn b.1730 of Cootehill), and also County Westmeath (starting with James Bradburn b.1835); and also Dublin (several families, including Thomas Bradburn c.1350, Samuel Bradburn c. 1650).
I welcome any contact and information exchange with people researching Bradburn genealogy, including descendants of Irish Bradburns, in any country. Email: james.bradburn@gmail.com
This is part of a Global One-Name Study of the Bradburn surname, attempting to trace all persons born as Bradburn, from the name’s beginning in 1200s through the generations down to living persons in Ireland, Canada, USA, Australia, etc. Collected research is available through websites by country.
England: one-name.org/Bradburn (mostly English descendants)
Ireland: bradburninireland.blogspot.com (includes descendants in Ireland, Canada, USA, Australia)
Canada: bradburnofcanada.com (includes descendants in USA)

Dear James,
Gettting back that far is difficult, but you could utilise all the resources on Roots Ireland, I had a quick look and in 1800 Ann Bradburn was born to Edward & Elizabeth & Edward to a Richard & Mary, both families living in Drung & Larah and they were part of Church of Ireland. They earliest marraige was Mary Bradburn to John Clinton in 1803, so there is quite a bit there. You will find more records on https://genealogy.nationalarchives.ie and you could look at https://www.irishnewsarchive.com for any articles relating to the family, particularly if they were well off, all their events would be covered. You could contact Cavan Genealogy, they will do research for a fee and may have information not available online, their details are:
Cavan Genealogy Centre
Irish Family History Foundation
Cana House
Farnham Street

Co. Cavan
Email: enquiries@rootsireland.ieYou could also publish your request in the Anglo Celt their contact details are linda@anglocelt.ie Best of luck in your research.
