This is my family name. I have been told my great-grabdfather came from Tyrone. I am interested in finding any family history of others by this last name. It is an unusual spelling. Please respond if you know any others.

  • You can use this site to see where the surname was found in Ireland in the mid 1800s. It also shows you the various alternative spellings that exist.

Looking at the 1901 Irish census there were 115 people named Breadon in the country, of which 19 lived in Tyrone - about 4 households altogether so not very common.

If you can give us your ancestors details ie full name, approximate year of birth, year he left Ireland ,details of any marriage or children born in Ireland, plus his religious denomination, we’ll see if we can trace anything on him.
